Tattered Lace Fine Filaments DT samples for the launch

Following the launch for the new "Fine Filaments" collection by Tattered Lace, I am sharing my samples for the show on Create & Craft TV, which also coincides with the Tattered Lace Anniversary.

I had the following dies to work with:-

  • Fine Filament Portofino
  • Waterfall Bow
  • Handmade For You

Fine Filament dies for the base card as well as multi layers, using the charisma backing paper for the top layer
This is a beautiful grand intricate die set, with the largest die measuring about 19cm square (7.5inches)

Waterfall Bow die and matching charisma paper, (free download from the Tattered Lace website) with the Fine Filament Portofino die set

The wording from the Handmade for you die set.

I have used all 3 of the die sets for this card with their matching charisma papers

For this card I have used one of the smaller dies within the Fine Filament Portofino die set for the card base and embossed the detailed lacy die onto the card base for texture and a slightly different look.

I have also used the Handmade for You flower ring die set with its charisma papers and die cut the smallest centre die from the Fine Filament Portofino die with the paper left over from the charisma so that it matches perfectly.

The colour core cardstock by Create & Craft match the tones in the card perfectly too .

For a DL card I have used the the 2 larger Fine Filament Portofino dies with the Handmade for You die set without charisma papers. Just to show that the dies look beautiful just on their own and still make a delicate but pretty card as you don't loose any detail with Tattered Lace dies.

I have just added a little ribbon and some matching pearls to finish the card

That lacy edge on the panel die also doubles up as a perfect insert for the card, fitting perfectly without any trimming.

For a much completely different and darker look this time, I used some chocolate centura pearl cardstock with gold mirri card for the Fine Filament Portofino dies on this card.

The mirri card  really stands out beneath the lacy layer that I have added and for the centre flower I have used some matt pearlescent paper.

With the Tattered Lace Essential Rounded Corner Diamond dies I have made a large tag, using the Waterfall bow and its charisma paper.
Adding a few layers to the bow to make it stand out.

Have a look at the  Tattered Lace website for more inspiration, the full range of dies and downloads which are free to either match the dies you have purchased or backing papers you can use for your cards.

Tattered Lace Spring is Coming DT samples for the launch

Following the launch for the new "Spring is Coming" collection by Tattered Lace, I am sharing my samples for the show on Create & Craft TV, which also coincide with the Tattered Lace Anniversary.

I had the following dies to work with:-

  • Bunny Ears
  • Unity Birds Nest
  • Unity Bunny
  • Leaves & Flourishes
Bunny Ears
I have also used the leaves/ flourishes dies along with the matching charisma papers for the dies. The backing papers are also from the collection which have also been printed onto centura pearl pearlescent paper, to give that sheen.

I have used the Tattered Lace large greeting card platform die for the card base on snow white centura pearl cardstock.

This time I have made a Dutch style card template and used the Bunny Ears dies without the charisma papers, paper piecing the dies. I have also used the Tattered Lace pearl rectangle dies on Create & Craft colour core cardstock.
I have used the leaves/flourishes die across the top of the card for a branch on my mini egg tree. For the mini eggs, I have used the pads from the bunny's feet and glittered them.

Using the Tattered Lace Filigree dies set and the coordinating backing papers with the Bunny Ears and their matching charismas

Unity Birds Nest

This die set comprises of the oval egg shape die and the inner Unity Birds Nest die. If you use the inner die, as I have above, all the detail is left in the aperture and like all Tattered Lace dies, you can snip into them and use elements of the die.
Using the Tattered Lace Rainy Days storybook die I have layered the card with Ivory colour core card by Create & Craft and some origami paper. I have used a Tattered Lace decorative square die from the Crystal Love Tapestry die.

Using the Unity Birds Nest dies again,  I have used both dies with the matching charisma papers and
layered them onto the matching backing papers. I have also used the branch from the same die to extend across the top of my card for the hanging bird nest eggs. For the lacy border on my card, I have used the Tattered Lace Neverending Frames dies from the Autumn Radiance/Allure collection, teamed up with the flowers from the same collection.

With a little glossy accent on the eggs in the nest.

For a different shaped card, I have used the Tattered Lace Lacy Diamond Trellis dies with the Unity Birds Nest die and leaves/flourishes dies.

The Unity Birds Nest has been layered onto acetate and then the speckled card to resemble an egg.  I have weaved the leaves/flourishes through the trellis dies.

I have used a mixture of kraft card inked with a little Tim Holtz gathered twigs distress ink to get the deeper shade of brown I wanted for a more woody shade and Colour Core card by Create & Craft from the red berry collection.

Finally, the Unity Bunny die. A circle easel card using the coordinating papers printed onto centura pearl pearlescent paper with a gold ring of the leaves/flourishes on the base. This 2 part die has the outer bunny shape and the lacy detailed bunny, which can be used together as in the above card or using just the outline or an aperture in your card. I have used the charisma paper behind the die.

Lovely vibrant pastel colours perfect for spring. You can keep elements of the die in such as the flower as I have above or just used the lacy detail of the bunny.

The papers look just as impressive printed onto matt paper and I love the hue of colours.

For this card, I was thinking of a child's Easter card and it reminded me of Easter egg hunts. Vibrant, Spring in the air and lots of bunnies! Here I have used the Tattered Lace Precious Nested Book die as a base and used the inner lacy die for an aperture in the centre surrounded by decoupaged Bunny Ears dies.

Again I have used my Colour Core card by Create and Craft
Inside, I have used both dies and the charisma to match up with the front of the card onto the coordinating paper. I have left a few pieces of the flowers in the die in for a bit more texture. Finished off with a bunting die by Tattered Lace,  ribbon and a few pearls.

For this card I have used the dies without the charisma papers and layered it onto the Tattered Lace Diamond Frame die from the Fresco collection, recently launched.

I have just used white and turquoise card from the Colour Core cardstock collection. It is definitely well worth investing in this colourway cardstock that compliment and coordinate with each other. Also ideal as they do not have a white core when torn or die cut.

The flowers were made using the Fleurs miniature flower dies and the leaves/flourishes dies from the Easter collection.

To finish with a simple little card using the outer Unity Bunny die and oval Unity Birds Nest die. I have used the Tattered Lace Nested Essential Rectangle dies for the card shape and panels and embossed the oval die to die in with the Tattered Lace backing papers that I have used.

For a bit more texture I have used white spider web and some little yellow flowers made with Fleurs flower forming foam in sunflower using the centre die from the Tattered Lace Charisma Swift Poppy die. A few springs of the leaves/flourishes made an ideal base for my flowers.

A few ideas on using these dies, not necessarily just for Easter, the bunny dies could be used for a new baby card and the Unity Birds die would make a lovely birthday or Anniversary card.

Exploding Box Football Birthday Card

Today I am sharing an Exploding birthday card made for my nephews birthday and also using as a DT sample for the  "Green Things"  blog over on Let's Craft and Create Blog Challenge this month.

I used a standard exploding box template from the Dreamees Templates & More CD using Create and Craft colour core cardstock.

I used Crafters Companion alphabet dies for the name on the lid and Tattered Lace Championship die, which was originally launched along with the Pop Up Celebrations 2 dies set collection.

As he loves his football and has a few favourite teams, I decided to try and incorporate a picture of 4 of these team pitches on the flaps.

Saving an action shot of his football skills  for the centre and some pop up pictures which have been attached using acetate, so no matter which ever way you look at the card you will have a picture.

These exploding box cards are great for adding a selection of your favourite pictures, sentiments on the panels or just pretty toppers with a 3D centre piece to finish it off.
