Teenage Music Birthday Card

Sharing a music birthday card made for my Teenage son made using a mix of Visible Image and Sheena Douglass stamps.

I created the background and topper using Tim Holtz distress oxide inks in candied apple, salty ocean, wild honey and twisted citron.
I used the Visible Image "Music on World off" stamp set, adding glossy accent to the headphones and heat embossing the "parent advisory" stamp.

I mixed this with the free Sheena Douglas "Music & Dance" stamp set from the Creative Stamping magazine (issue 52) from 2018, decoupaging the guitar on the left.

I also used a combination of stamping and heat embossing to create different textures. I love the chalky finish from the distress oxides too.

I matt and layered it onto white card using foam pads and added a personalised verse inside. The finished card measures 7.5 inches square.  These stamps are ideal for teenagers or male cards or just generally music lovers when you are looking for something that little bit different.

Tattered Lace Fresco Collection DT samples for the Launch

Sharing my latest set of DT samples following the launch of  Tattered Lace Fresco Collection on Create & Craft TV on Thursday 7th February.

I had the following dies to work with from the collection:-

  • 3D Decoupage Floral Fresco Orchid die
  • 3D Decoupage Floral Fresco Carnation die
  • Fresco Diamond die

The Floral Fresco Orchid die has been printed onto glossy card and then decoupaged. Some of these flowers have been printed onto 190gsm matt photo card also.

This collection by Tattered Lace has an added advantage. Once you have die cut them, remove the magnetic mat (if you use one on the Cut n Boss) and add your embossing mat. When you pass all these dies back through your machine it increases the embossing in your die cut, which looks particularly striking with the flowers as there are no white edge on your die cuts.

You don't need to shape the flower, just mould them a little.  There are free charisma papers which are downloadable from the Tattered Lace website.

I have used the outer diamond frame again to make a different card shape and the inner lace frame with some mint green vellum.

These are only some of the dies which were part of this collection. This collection was incredibly popular on its launch which was not surprising.  These dies are so pretty. Take a look at the collection as a whole which also included Floral Lavender & Aster along with the Square & Oval frame sets.

Engagement Card

Today I am sharing an Engagement card made for a colleague that I have made and also using as a DT sample for the  "From the Heart"  Blog Challenge over on Let's Craft and Create Blog Challenge this month.

I used the Large Greeting Card die set by Tattered Lace and the heart die from their Dimensional Handbag die set onto snow white centura pearl card and Hunkydory silver mirri card.

For the flowers, I used the Dreamees " A Charming Cascade" stamp set, which have been heat embossed using silver superfine metallic Wow embossing powder onto Dreamees papers ( from their Sweet Sensations cd).

I have also used Dreamees pastel pink pearls and Tattered Lace dragonfly and 'congratulations' dies to finish my card off.

Valentines Card

Today I am sharing my Valentines card that I have made and used as a DT sample for the  "From the Heart"  Blog Challenge over on Daisy Chains this month.

For this 8" x 8" card I have used snow white centura pearl cardstock for the card base and the Hunkydory papercraft kit - Roses for you (love & Kisses).  You can't beat these card kits by Hunkydory as they are such good quality using their adorable scorable cardstock.

The card kit comes with a selection of coordinating printed cardstock, toppers and frames to make a selection of cards.  I have added some matt gold mirri card and red ribbon.

To finish off I have added some gold gems and a key. For the inside of the card, I have used one of the heart toppers and a personalised verse.

These kits are great if you don't have many craft supplies as you will just need some adhesive to make some cards and can add a few gems.  The kits even have card ribbon strips to coordinate with all the card in the kit.

I have also used some of the mini toppers and card from the kit for some ATC cards to swap in a craft group.
