ATCs Shine

For this months blog challenge over on Daisy Chains I decided on something different for the anything goes theme.  I have made a set of  ATCs (Artist Trade Cards).

For these ATCs I used the Shine Bright and The Ripple Effect Visible Image stamp set.

The inks used were Tim Holtz spiced marmalade, evergreen borough and scattered straw distress ink.
I used a few drops of glycerine, which helps the ink blend and glide across the watercolour card.

Love this combination of colours and as I am using the Shine Bright stamp set, I thought that they would be an ideal combination.

I heat embossed the smaller lightbulb and 'shine' stamp onto watercolour card using black embossing powder.

Using a blending brush with a few drops of blending solution and the Tim Holtz scattered straw distress ink I coloured the inside of the light bulb and around the 'shine' wording, then cut them out.

Being a lightbulb, I decided it needed a glow so coloured the bulb with a spectrum noir clear sparkle overlay pen.

Using one of the Visible Image The Ripple Effect stamps I heat embossed around the cards using gold superfine Wow embossing powder.

I backed the card onto some orange coordinating cardstock and stuck the lightbulb on with pinfair gel glue to add a little dimension.

ATC & Inchies for November Group Swap

I love doing these group swaps.  Crafting is for sharing and inspiration from others too. There are so many creative and  talented people in this stamping group sharing ideas and makes.

These are my offering for this months Anything Goes swap.  For the ATCs,  I decided to theme mine "Burlesque - keep your cards close to your heart".  I went for sassy this month.

They were a lot of fun to make. I had an idea and just went with it.  I used two stamps on these cards. The I Love Lace background stamp by Stamping Up and the Torn Fishnets by Visible Image.

 

First I heat embossed the Stamping Up I love Lace stamp onto a piece of burgundy card stock I had. I did the same with the Visible Image Torn Fishnets stamp onto some black card.

I made a template of how I wanted the corset to look and fit on the card and then used it to cut around my stamped black card.

I scored the edge of the corset so that I could stick it to the lace panel card.  Before doing this I used the smallest hole on my punch to to make the holes on the corset. Then I used a silky black embroidery thread to thread it.  After that I stuck the corset to the lace panel to make sure it fit properly. ( I used red liner tap on the tabs)  Once stuck I used a tacky pva based glue like cosmic shimmer to glue my laced corset panel to the black card.

I added a black organza bow (made on my bow maker) to the front of the corset and some tiny Queen of Spades playing cards I sourced online across what would be the cleavage (these have been backed with red pearlescent paper).I used a little velvet adhesive lace to finish them off.

These are my inchies for this month.  I've decided they are Christmas stars.

I used a pale blue The Dreamees dinky inky on some watercolour card and then inked through an Anna Marie stencil using The Dreamees navy dinky inky.

 I then cut my inchies into 6 x 1 inch squares and stamped a little script star stamp onto the squares and heat embossed with silver metallic embossing powder.

 I stamped the star again onto heat resistant acetate and embossed it again. Then I dusted a tiny amount of metallic silver mica powder onto the squares using a soft brush.

I threaded a bell and some silver twine through the square, also adding the acetate star. I finished it of with some tiny metallic gems.

ATC & Inchies for October Group Swap

These are the ATCs I made to swap with my craft group.  Artist Trading Cards are a little piece of artwork that is always traded and never sold between crafters.  Each card measures 2. 5" x 3. 5" and the idea behind them is that you show your favourite technique or try a new technique and pass it on to another crafter to enjoy or for inspiration.

My First ATC used Tim Holtz scattered straw and spun sugar distress ink through a stencil. The Cool Retro Camper stamp was free with an edition of the Craft Stamper Magazine.

I heat embossed the camper van with black embossing powder onto watercolour card and then coloured it in with metallic mica powders that I added water to make a thickish paint. It has a lovely sheen when dry.

On the second ATC I  used another free stamp from The Craft Stamper magazine, called Blooming Doodles. I used Tim Holtz Vintage photo to ink through the brick stencil. I have made a paint from the mica powder again for the flower and added a fence and leaf stencil.

My third ATC I  inked with Tim Holtz scattered straw again and then gently brushed with a little metallic lemon mica powder. Next, I used a circle stencil and white pigment ink to create a bokeh background.  "Bokeh" is the fuzzy white circles of light in the background of photographs that are recreated in crafting.

I used a spring garden stamp set and some glossy accent to add texture and the appearance of drops of water from the watering can.

I made these using watercolour card which I inked with Tim Holtz broken china and then heat embossed with white embossing powder using an Indigoblu script stamp. I then die cut them with my 6 piece puzzle die, stamped HOPE and added some white twine.
