Decorated Notebook

I thought I'd share a little project that I made before Christmas .  A decorated notebook that I made for someone who needed cheering up.

I used an A5 vinyl backed notebook that I had bought ages ago marked down in the sales and covered it with some rice paper that I had.

For the front of the book,  I chose this fab stamped Festival Dollies image from Dolly Dimples Crafts.  Colouring has never been a strong point for me, but I muddle through.

I do love this stamp set and have used it quite a lot and think 'Hope' is my favourite of the 3 dollies in the set.

I've also sewn some small metallic seed beads to the front of the elastic on the cover.

On the inside cover I added this lovely Mermaid digi image from JMC Designs and paired it up with some stamped images that I have also coloured in.  I thought the stamped sentiment was very apt for the notebook.

Finally, on the inside of the back cover another stamped sentiment.
Hopefully the notebook will come in handy and brighten her day.

Every path in life has a bridge. The journey is crossing over it to the other side.
You are never alone, as someone, somewhere, will leave a light on for you...
You just need to look for it...

Have a great week, whatever you have planned for yourself.

Birthday Card - 'Festival Dolly' Stamp

Sharing a birthday card today made with one of the  Festival Dolly stamps from Dolly Dimples.

I do love this set of stamps and although colouring has never been one of my strengths, I couldn't resist buying this set and stepping out of my comfort zone, especially after seeing the inspiration from samples of these stamps.

I used my Promarker pens and added an inky background with distress ink. I probably will buy a few more colours and endeavour to push myself a bit more instead of sticking to colouring the size of an ATC card!

I did really enjoy making this card and it has lots of cool little stamps in this set too that can be used as border and background builders too.
It's another one of those really well designed stamp sets that are so enjoyable to use.

Have a great day,  whatever you have planned for yourself.

Alice in Wonderland Memory Book

For an alternative special birthday card I decided to make it themed by Alice in Wonderland as that is one of her favourite books.

I saw the perfect set of papers at a craft show to get me started from The House of Zandra which are now being sold by Dolly Dimples.

Using the clock from Bonkers in Wonderland I cut my greyboard to make a round memory book. I used some of the Bonkers in Wonderland topper sheets and then sourced various Wonderland themed paper craft to complete the book. I added a few metal embellishments and made some cabochons along with other relevant pieces to tie in.

I used Print magic on the butterfly. The rabbit has been decoupaged and I used some
glossy accent  on the hearts on the rabbits coat.
Using a little bottle of pink glitter, I labelled the bottle "drink me"

Embellishments added onto the printed backing paper

An invite used for the event with some tiny bunting I put together

The small clock was one of the Bonkers in Wonderland topper sheets.
I made the keyhole with Alice inside, along with the cabochon  and the envelope (which I sourced)

Inside the little envelope is a card. The bottle if one of the embellishments from
Bonkers in Wonderland, which I have used clear embossing powder on.

Finished of with a themed printed backing paper and some little playing cards.
I really enjoyed creating and putting this project together. Makes a quirky keepsake.
