Birthday card

 I'm sharing a birthday card that I made for a friend's birthday.

Any leftover handmade flowers from my projects go into my flower box below and sometimes I will just sit and make flowers whilst watching TV. This also saves time and makes it easier for me to plan projects when I have some flowers made up.

I would be interested to hear how other crafters file their digital downloads for crafting.

With a paper kit, you can see what each one is, but with a digital download, especially in PDF format, it is just a file with a name that doesn't take up space in your craft room.

I enjoy all the benefits of crafting with digital downloads, but I also want to know what is in each kit without having to open each file to search for a particular paper or topper that I may want to use, especially as I have so many files from various designers.

So, what works for me, as I am a visual person, is that I have a craft journal with a snapshot of each kit. At least that way, I have a pretty good idea where a particular paper topper is without searching my hard drive

Sometimes you forget some of the beautiful designs you collect along the way and just haven't had time to create with.

It may sound like a laborious task, but I have been doing this for quite a while, and each time I get a download kit,  I just add it on.  You can just see part of a page above.

I have also done this with just my flower dies. I cut them out when I buy them and place them on an A5 page, which goes in one of my craft journals. It also encourages me to make more use of what is in my craft stash.

This particular kit I am using today is one of those I have been meaning to use from Opulence by Design Crafts. It was a member's gift for Patreon users and is the Perfect Panels Set Petal Perfection Kit, which was released toward the end of 2024, and it was designed as a card sketch kit.

It's such a pretty kit, and I have only used a few of these papers, which would also look beautiful printed onto rice paper for other projects.

These roses were left over from a previous project, and I used the digital florist - All eyes are on me rose, along with these little flowers from the Steampunk Florals collections - I've added gold Stickles glitter glue to the centres of these blooms.

I thought these flowers would work well with this beautiful kit and die cut the largest panels for my topper. The rest of the panels I have saved for another project.

I used my clear glitter shimmer pen to highlight areas of the backing paper, and also used my Sakura twilight gelly roll pen to edge the layers of my card.  I normally do this as it leaves a fine iridescent shimmered edge on the layers and is also great for highlighting.

I've also made a boxed envelope for my card, which will be hand delivered.

Wellbeing cards

I have been making a few wellbeing cards with some of the papers from The Ultimate Apothecary Collection from Opulence by Design Crafts, following on from  the other projects that I have been sharing this week.

The Ultimate Apothecary Collection Herbs & Remedies Kit for Cardmakers and Papercrafters is beautiful a digital download kit containing 50 A4 pages in PDF format.

It has a wide selection of toppers, papers, labels, embellishments, inserts for your cards,  etc. Lots to cut out and cut into.  

I have selected just some of the papers and elements to create a few cards and these are more focused on health and wellbeing.

I've chosen this design sheet for my backing paper on both cards and along with an insert for inside my cards.  Adding some toppers and embellishments along with one of my yoga Duo dies.

A few years back this die got rather mangled in my old Cut n' Boss die machine before I had the chance to even get my samples cut. Miraculously, we managed to get her out  and unfold her with no damage done to die or machine! Apart from being a bit bendy, it still cuts perfectly well,  which is good testament to the quality of the die too.

I also added a stamped sentiment to the inside of my DL card.

My second card is an easel and I've fussy cut this beautiful flower to fit exactly where I wanted it on the base of my card, using a cacti embellishment as a stopper.

I have left space on the back for a message just under my stamped sentiment.

For my final card I used one of the floral toppers with two alternative papers to coordinate with this beautiful topper.

On my little get well card I've also added a few of Amanda's flowers.

Tea Bag Gift Box

Today I'm sharing  a tea bag gift box which I've made using some of the fabulous papers from The Ultimate Apothecary Collection from Opulence by Design Crafts.

This is a huge kit with lots of elements to cut out and great to use with your scrapbooking, collaging and home décor projects.

I have also used  some of Paula Pascual's box dies from her 'Miss P Loves' collection for my gift box.

I chose a selection of papers that I wanted to use. These have been printed on  a mix of 120gsm, 160gsm and 200gm for the topper on Navigator paper/card. The higher weight card isn't always on offer but is definitely worth looking out for.

I've also reduced the print size  to 70%  and 85% on some sheets so that they would fit more of less into my gift box.

I used the Miss P Loves - Boundless Box Tray die along with the Boundless Wrap die 

which makes a 6 x 4 box/folder with many more possibilities.

I double side printed onto 200gsm Navigator card and then die cut the base for my box and wrap using one of the papers from the kit.  I also inked around the edges to add some tone.

This box/folder is such a clever design, doesn't necessarily need to be glued but can be, depending what you want to use it for. 

This fabulous topper for the front of my box was printed  on 5x7"  to get the right fit.

I also used my clear glaze Sakura gelly roll pen on the glass bottles to add a touch of glossy texture and done this around the  larger bottles too.

Whilst watching TV I cut out all the elements for my project and added some die cut foliage, cream lace and the fruit tea bags.  

I've made some decorative stitched holders for my teabags from the papers and added the circular tabs to the tea bags with embroidery thread. On the other side of the tag there is a little label saying  'fruit tea.'

The idea behind this little gift box was simply a little 'hello Friend', a little cup of friendship, for you to sit and chill and relax. It can be a thinking of you or even a feel better soon. 

It doesn't really need many words. You can craft with the kit to suit your theme or project which is really what I have done.

Inside the flap of my box, I created a pocket using one of the topper sheets to pop my little bottle tags in. I also cut out some taller jars from another sheet to fill in the gap at bottom of the flap between the baskets and make the jars look as if they were originally part of that page.

Inside the box, I've mounted the panels that I cut out on foam pads to add dimension and the foliage hangs behind it.

The little gift card that I made will fit perfectly in my gift box and I cut out these wonderful little bottles to create little tags which I have attached some twine to with a die cut flower on the end.

I added a few little holistic quotes on the reverse of the tags so that they were not plain on the back.

I've inked around around the edges of everything that I have cut out

The cream lace just adds a little texture, along with the flower and as the floral band didn't quite stretch all the way around, I just added another of the disc toppers that I had originally reduced in size for my teabag  embellishments, and cut it to fit the side of the box where my flower would sit.  

You can always find an alternative to embellish, especially in a bumper kit like this with so many things to cut out and cut into.  Another beautifully designed kit with alternative themes.

I have also made an Apothecary Themed Journal using some of the papers and elements in this kit too.

I  have had a lot to do in my garden this summer and this was taken before I started, but I'm fortunate to get a Jay visit my garden regularly for it's monkey nuts. They are normally quite a shy bird.

Apothecary themed Journal

I have been making an apothecary themed journal using some of these beautiful papers from The Ultimate Apothecary Collection from Opulence by Design Crafts.

This is another huge kit with a great variety of elements for your journaling and scrapbooking and lots of toppers for cards and collaging too.

If you like making embellishments for your craft  projects, this kit has plenty for you to fussy cut and create with.

For the base of my journal I used the thick cardboard packaging from a set of pillow cases that I bought.  I cut it down slightly to fit the papers that I had chosen for the covers of my journal and these have been printed out to A5 size on 160 gsm Navigator paper.

I did give my journal base a very light coat of gesso.

I added some cream lace around the edges of my cover and to the spine and fussy cut some flowers and foliage to accompany the topper for the front of the journal from one of the insert sheets.

For the inside of the journal cover, I chose two of the watermark print designs and die cut 

a spine for the centre of the journal using my memory book spine die with some kraft card. 

I've neatened the edges with a thin strip of cream ribbon either side of the spine.

These are a selection of the fabulous papers that will go inside my journal

I thought that I would keep this  journal fairly simple and then just make a few things to go inside.  I've added an embellished cord with some dried rosemary on the end.

Whilst in my garden I picked a few herbs and pressed them to use in my journal as I thought that they would fit the theme quite nicely.

Opposite each journal page to write in there is a decorative one and most have a pocket with a card in them, to decide what it will be used for.

I made this trio of little seed packets to add into my journal which were really easy to make from one of the design papers. 

I just cut two squares out, leaving a small white border around two squares and a larger border at the top to create a flap for your seed packet. 

I then folded the squares in half, glued around the edges and inked. You then get a lovely design on both sides.  The wording was created with a label printer.

I mounted them in my journal using some clear photo corners in my craft stash that I find really handy for these projects.

This is my bookmark page, I  use these for page saves and I made a few bookmark corners  which I find really handy too and they are also very simple to make too.

A handy little embellishment that can be made from your craft kits for reminders or just to embellish.

I've added a few pressed bay leaves from my garden

I found a sleep tracker online that I could print off and just add on each month.

My final page. I really like the layered journal page design which is already done  for you to start creating onto.

On the back of toppers I've attached some pressed lemon balm from my garden.

This has been a fun project to put together and  would be great for scrapbooking too.

My strawberries seems to be flourishing..... not where I planted them but where they self seeded themselves and happily growing up between two paving slabs. Isn't nature amazing sometimes.
