Hello denim card

For this months blog challenge on Let's Craft and Create I am sharing a card to say Hello"
As our theme, this month is paper strips instead of ribbon, I remembered that I had bought a  card kit from Hobby House called Mia Bella. As with all Hobby house kits, you can make so much from them and they have the best collection of embellishments if you are looking for an around kit to start off with.

This is just a selection of some of the card that I am using from the collection. I will still have enough left over to make another project.

Today I am really focusing on this sheet of denim card which will form the basis of my ribbon strips.

I used the Dreamees divine doily die on the denim daisy card stock.

For my flower I used some Fleurs flower forming foam with the Dreamees Sweet Sunflowers dies.

I inked the edges of the petals with an oil pastel, scrunched and shaped the petals a little before layering them up with a tiny drop of hot glue

In the centre of the flower I added a tiny drop of hot glue to stick the little white button down.
I used a rectangular stitched dies to cut my denim faux pocket out and used the card strips to edge the as ribbon. I did the same with the centre panel. The border strip along the base of the card worked really well as a stitched hem.
A few pale blue pearls and button to match my flower for the faux pocket with a "hello" sentiment to finish my card off.

Our design team have also been busy this month with projects of their own and there is always lots of fabulous inspiration shared by the crafters on our blog too. If you are interested,  there is a prize for the winning entry, following our theme and a badge for your blog for the top 3 runners up. Spring is in the Air with a bit of Hobby House

For this months challenge on Daisy Chains Blog, the theme is "Spring is in the Air" So I thought I would share with you my DT card for the month.

I have decided to make a daisy card using card and embellishments from The Hobby House Mia Bella collection.  This is such a sweet collection and particularly love the wood embellishment which forms the centrepiece to my card.

I love the backing paper I have used from this collection which actually looks like strips of material and I have added a string of their pearls to the coordinating ribbon from the kit.

For the centre panels, I have also used the Tattered Lace Essential Pindot Hexagon nesting die set to matt and layer the papers.

The flower stamps are Something Stitchy by The Dreamees along with the backing Pretty Pets backing papers.

This is such an adorable and fresh collection.  The cardstock is always good quality, as is the embellishments and Hobby House put a lot of thought into their collections ensuring that everything coordinated perfectly.

Have a look at what the rest of the design team have created this month.

Hobby House - Mia Bella

Another fabulous kit by Hobby House is the Mia Bella kit which comes with a lovely selection of blue and cream patterned cardstock, embellishments and an embroidery hoop. Again there is a lot packed into this beautiful kit.

After watching a demo by Debbie Simpson using the embroidery hoop I decided this would be my next project. I particularly liked the little wooden girl embellishments.

First I drew around the outside of the embroidery hoop. Then using a Tattered Lace pearl circle die I die cut some coordinating circles to stick onto the largest circle.

Using a tacky glue that dries clear like cosmic shimmer, I glued the edge of the embroidery hoop and stuck my circle topper face down over the hoop, smoothing it down to make sure stuck smoothly.

Once dry I turned it over and glued the wooden embellishment in the centre along with two of the flower shaped buttons and the heart shaped one of the hat using the same glue.  I did tread a little of the twine through the buttons before sticking them down.

Using a Crafters Companion alphabet die I die cut the word friend using some of the coordinating cardstock

I used the pearl strings, which I glued (using the same glue) around the edge of the hoop. Finishing with a little more twine from the kit and a little ribbon from my stash that just happened to tie in nicely.

I still have a lot left to make more things with this kit.

I hope you like my friend hoop

Kindness Postcards

I love a postcard; they come in all shapes and forms, from a reminder of where you have been to a hello friend, but unfortunately, they are ...
