Patriotic greeting card

Sharing my DT card for the challenge over on Let's Craft and Create blog this month with the theme  "Patriotic."

Using a  6 x 6 inch white card and keeping with the red, white & blue theme, I tied that in with a lovely frame die by The Dreamees. The backing papers are just from my craft stash

I just so happened to have a set of 3D foiled Royal Crowns stickers by EK Success for form the centre part of my card.

I teamed this up with a stamp from the Royal Mail Queen Mothers 90th Birthday stamp collection which I found in my pack of mixed franked stamps,  purchased some time ago to use with some mixed media projects.

I finished this off with a few more embellishments.

Dreamees Thank You card

Today I am sharing a DT thank you card for the May blog challenge over on Let's Craft and Create with the theme "Motherly Love"
This is another Dreamees make.  As you are probably aware by now I love Dreamees products. I love their stamps, especially their flower stamps which make such pretty flower for your cards.

Onto a cream card blank, I used the inner lacy panel from their divine lacy die which leaves the lace panel in your card.

Then I used the outer frame die for my picture frame front and layered them up to give my card some dimension to the frame.

Next, I stamped the Something Stitchy flowers using rich cocoa memento ink onto the pretty pets backing paper printed off the cd. The rich cocoa gave a softer outline to the stitchy flowers. I love their little button centres which I added a little Ranger glossy accent to the centres.

I also die cut some Tattered Lace leaves/flourishes from their Spring is Coming collection which were printed onto their matching charisma paper (downloadable free from their website)

A Tattered Lace sentiment and a few gems to finish the card.  I also used the Dreamees Square Lacy Divine outer frame die for a panel inside the card to write on.

I do like a little sparkle, so added just a hint of shimmer to the edges of the flowers using my spectrum noir sparkle clear overlay pen (which I used all the time). They come in packs of 3, last ages and are available from the Crafters Companion website.

Have a look at the inspiration over on our blog page from the rest of the design team along with the other project entries for this month on Let's Craft and Create Blog Challenge.  There is also a prize offered every month to the winning entry.

Dreamees MDF Hanging Calendar plaque

Sharing an mdf hanging calendar plaque made with Dreamees products for a group swap.

Using some of the mdf from the Dreamees Pretty Pets collection, I painted it with some white chalk paint. For the centre panel of the top part of the plaque I layered a piece of Create & Craft satin board with part of the Dreamees square lacy divine die.  I thought that a photograph could also be easily added to this section if wished.

The bottom mdf  panel was then layered up with a layer of card using paper from the Something Stitchy paper pad and a plain piece of white card, which has both been die cut using a stitched die. The calendar was then added using a thin line of double sided tape, so a new calendar could easily be added the following year.

For theSomething Stitchy stamp set with those adorable button centres onto backing paper from the Dreamees Pretty Pets CD.  I also added some glossy accent to the centre of the flowers.

I added some coordingating organza ribbon, Dreamees pale blue pearls, a tag with a sentiment from one of the Tattered Lace stamp sets and a heart charm.

I usually add a handmade bookmark when sending my group swap project, but this time decided to make a little card.  I do love Dreamees products.  Always inspirational and pretty, with the best flower stamps out.

Retirement card using the Christmas Rose stamp by Chloe Endean

I made an 8  x  8 inch  Retirement card using Chloe Endeans Christmas Rose stamp. This stamp never ages in my opinion. Its a good size with lots of detail and easy to cut out, especially effective when embossed onto vellum.

The Christmas Rose was heat embossed with super fine Wow metallic silver embossing powder onto turquoise vellum with crystal gems in the centre.

I used white centura pearl cardstock for the card base then layered it up using  Tattered Lace pearl lace circle nesting dies, with more white centura pearl, silver rainbow mirri card and turquoise centura pearl just under the white lacy layer so you can see the colour to coordinate with the flowers.

On the last circle die I have also die cut it using The Dreamees square lacy divine die. I then heat embossed the leaves from the Dreamees sweet sunflowers stamp set onto acetate using Chloe Endeans glitter embossing powder mix in Hollywood Hills.  I used Pinflair glue gel to stick the flowers onto the card and also on the leaves which have been slotted in under the largest topper on the card.

Finished off with some woven ribbon. I added quite a few pages inside the card for people to write their goodwill messages and for pictures and memories to be added inside as a keepsake book.

As this card has a lot of dimension,  it needed a handbag box envelope to keep it in. I carried on the theme with the leaves by using them on the envelope.  I use my large envelobox scoreboard by Crafters Companion to make my dimensional boxes.

Sister 60th Birthday Card

I was asked to make a birthday card for a sister's 60th so given her favourite colour and that she liked flower I decided to go with my Dreamees flower stamps and die.

For this card, I used a white linen card base and layered it up with lavender satin board by Create & Craft and The Dreamees something stitchy backing papers in the same colourway.

The sentiment has been heat embossed using superfine metallic silver Wow embossing powder with one of The Dreamees sentiment stamps.

I have heat embossed The Dreamees pretty pearls flower stamps onto some of their patterned backing paper in the same colourways and added a little hint of colour in the centre using on of their lavender pearlescent dinky inkies.  The flowers have been layered up, shaped and finished off with plum pearls in the centre.

I adhered the wording/ number and heart metal embellishment in the centre of the card and didn't think it needed any more than that.

Pretty Pearls

For the lacy aperture centre, I have die cut the card centre using The Dreamees square lacy divine die to get the aperture and then the lacy die with the white linen card.  Inside I have added a mint green vellum layer to catch the light and give a hint of colour behind the panel. The card insert covers the panel inside. I really liked the effect of the acetate leaves I used on another card so decided that they would go well with this card too.  The leaves have been heat embossed onto acetate using a Chloe Endean mix of fine Wow embossing powder in Hollywood Hills.  The leaves are from The Dreamees sweet sunflowers stamp set.

When you have taken the time to make a special card, I think it also needs a book to keep it in, in the same way, you would wrap a gift.  I have used Crafters Companion Indulgence centura pearl double sided 300gsm card to make the gift box and used their envelobox scoreboard (as I always do) to make the box.

Spring Card for Easter

My 2nd DT card this month is a Spring Easter card for Let's Craft and Create.  A decoupaged posy of yellow flowers.

To start this project, this is what I used:-
  • 6 x 6 white card blank
  • 6 x 6 white card to die cut
  • Green gingham backing paper from one of the Dreamees cd roms
  • Dreamees square lace die set (available on Create & Craft )
  • Stamping Up Lotus Blossom stamp set (retired - but available on ebay)
  • Docrafts Xcut mini gift tag die
  • Lemon organza ribbon
  • Papermania adhesive gems
  • Dreamees Dinky Inky ink pads

I used the three stamps to define the flowers using the Dreamees new Pearlescent dinky inkies in mustard. It's difficult to capture the shimmer of these inks at this angle. I also used one of their Autumn winter green inks for the stems.  I then cut them out ready to decoupage.

Normally I would stamp these straight to the card but decided to see how they would look decoupage to create some different dimensional flowers.

This square lace die comes with 3 dies.  An outer frame (13cms) a fine square die (9cm) and inner lacy panel (8.5cm). As I wanted the frame and lace panel to form a layer on my card, I left out the middle die. This detailed die cut perfectly with my Sizzix.

Using a quickie glue pen and some glitter I added some sparkle around the edges and to areas of the lacy panel.

Then I layered up all the elements

The inspiration behind this spring card came from my beautiful yellow tulips.
